ACCHS' Forbes Leads Area Performances at Girls State Wrestling Championships

2019 Kansas Girls State Wrestling – Results

Two weeks before the boy’s state wrestling tournaments are scheduled to be held several girls traveled to McPherson high school Saturday to complete in the 2019 Kansas Girls State Wrestling Tournament and brought back several medals.

The ACCHS girls had the best finish as a team taking 10th overall and the Tigers were led by MaKaea Forbes who took first place at 195 pounds while her sister, Tanna, took second at 170 pounds.

MaKea also won most outstanding wrestler in the tournament with the most pins in the least amount of time, while she ended her season 14-0 and with her second state championship.

Jeff West finished with one wrestler on the podium as Montana Garhem took second at 120 pounds, while Royal Valley had Maya Ogden also take second at 132 pounds and Sabetha Kylie Meredith fourth at 182 pounds.

Onaga was the only other area school to have a wrestler place in the meet, as Morgan Mayginnes captured the 145 pounds title.
