Jeff West entered Thursday's Semi-Final game as the top seed in the 3A Sub State held at Perry – Lecompton High School, facing off with the Cyclones from Bishop Ward, the fourth seed. The Lady Tigers took care of business, weathering every storm throughout the game to come out on top 53-43 and improve to 19-3 this season.

Jeff West jumped out to a 20-11 score at the end of the first quarter and extended that lead to 30-19 at the halftime break. The Cyclones would storm back outscoring the Tigers 13-8 in the third frame to trail 38-32 entering the 4th quarter. The Tigers would weather the final storm by Bishop Ward down the stretch in the fourth quarter, hitting 6 of 9 free throws to salt the game away and extend their lead back to double figures for a final of 53-43.

Jeff West will now ride their season long 7 game winning streak to the Sub State Championship game this Saturday night in Perry where they will face off against the Royal Valley Panthers for the third time this year. The Panthers defended home court back in December 46-34 and The Tigers returned the favor on February 5th defeating Royal Valley 39-31 in Meriden. The rubber match between these schools will tip off at 6:00PM Saturday as they square off for a spot in the Hutchinson Sports Arena at the 3A State Tournament next week.
