The Zone 2 Legion Baseball Tournament continued on Friday night in Wathena with Seneca advancing to the title game and Doniphan County surviving another day.

Game 1: Hiawatha 8, Doniphan County 12

DC wasted little time in this one jumping out to an early 7-2 lead after the first two innings. Hiawatha would make multiple moves in the middle innings but both times Doniphan County was able to respond and keep Hiawatha at arms length.

Doniphan County's Logan Blevins and Ryder Davis combined to pitch the seven inning game while Hiawatha utilized three pitchersin the game with Dalton Siebenmorgan, Cooper Jacobson, and Rhen Hageman.

DC's Davis was named the McDonald's of Hiawatha and Seneca Player of the Game finishing the game 4-for-4 with four singles, two RBI's, and two runs scored.

Cooper Eberly and Hayden Paolino each drove in two for Doniphan County as everyone in the DC lineup reached base at least once.

Hiawatha's Cooper Wischropp drove in two runs while Micah Oldham had a two RBI single. The two teams combined for seven errors on defense.

Game 2: Corning 5, Seneca 8

This game was all Seneca up until the sixth inning. Seneca led the game 6-0 with Corning only having one hit through the first five innings.

However, Corning would make things real interesting getting within 6-5 with five runs on four hits in the sixth. Seneca responded themselves with two more in the bottom half of the sixth to hold on for the win.

Seneca's Derek Wurtz pitched all seven innings and was named the McDonalds of Hiawatha and Seneca Player of the Game. He also reached base in three of his four at-bats.
