The Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star games were held on Saturday at Mabee Arena in Salina. Below is results with area athlete statistics.
Girls: Blue 75, Gold 70
Gold jumped out to an early lead as they led Blue 25-17 at the end of the first quarter. Blue would outscore Gold 19-11 in the second quarter as the game was tied at 36 at halftime.
Blue would open up a six-point lead going into the fourth quarter and were able to hold on for the victory.
Rossville's Rylee Dick finished with 14 points to lead the Blue squad while Clifton-Clyde's Sevy Wurtz added 10 points, four steals, and three rebounds.
Silver Lake's Kailyn Hanni added nine points, four rebounds, and three assists for the Blue squad while Maur Hill-Mount Academy's Kailtyn Folsom pitched in with four points and five rebounds.
Boys: Blue 93, Gold 94
This game was close from the opening tip-off. Gold would lead Blue 47-45 at halftime and would hold on for the one point win when it was all said and done.
Gold's largest lead of the game was 11 while the Blue squad once held a two-point lead early in the game. In total, there was six ties and four lead changes between the two teams.
Axtell's Colin Shaughnessy played for the Gold squad and finished with one point in 19 minutes. Shaughnessy was able to contribute elsewhere with seven rebounds and an assist.
Ben DeVader of St. Marys was playing for the Blue squad and finished with two points in 15 minutes of action while adding three steals.
Braylon Meyn of Hanover added four points, nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals for the Blue squad.
