Frankfort Boys Golf Team Takes Home Washington County Invite

Twin Valley League golf teams were in action on Friday against each other continuing their seasons at the Washington County Invite and it was the Frankfort Wildcats putting together another strong team. 

Behind a team score of 344 the Frankfort Wildcats boys golf team earned another tournament title winning by 50-strokes. Centralia edged Washington County for second place with a team score of 394, while the Tigers recorded a team score of 396. Valley Heights, Onaga and Hanover finished out the team scores with scores of 428, 432 and 435, respectively. 

Frankfort on the way to the top team spot the top four scorers for the Wildcats finished in the Top six on the day out of 30 golfers. Brandon Bussmann led the way for Frankfort shooting an 80 to win by three-strokes. An 86 by Austin Hardwick earned him a third place finish, while Spencer Dressman and Brandon Anderson took fifth and sixth place after each shooting an 89. 

Centralia Panthers were led by Kenton Talley who shot an 83 to take second place at the Washington County Invite. Nathan Haufler and Jeremy Penix each notched Top 10 finishes for Centralia carding rounds of 93 and 98 to finish eighth and tenth. 

The host Washington County was led by Pepe Cardenas who finished fourth shooting an 86, while Kobe Hoover shot a 90 to place seventh. 

Dawson Sedlacek led Hanover posting a 94 to place ninth on the links. 

Carter Popejoy led Valley Heights shooting a 98, while Onaga was led by KC Koelzer who shot a 100.
