Perry Lecompton & Pleasant Ridge Compete at Wellsville Track Invite

Perry Lecompton and Pleasant Ridge both stepped outside of Northeast Kansas and their Leagues to continue their track seasons and competed at the Wellsville Invite on Friday. Both schools had strong performances including some individual first place finishes. 

Perry Lecompton was led by Shane Quinlan as he sprinted to the gold in the 200 and 400 meter dashes with times of 22.62 and 50.55. While the boys relay teams swept the relays posting times of 43.49, 3:27.42 and 8:30.43 to win the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay. Dalton Kellum added a third place finish in the boy’s 100 meter dash, while Caden Dean took fourth in the boys long jump. The lady Kaws were led by Haley Kellum who won the triple jump behind a leap of 34'01, while Talisa Stone snagged second place in the high jump. 

A first place finish in the boy’s triple jump by Glynn Smith with a leap of 41'04 led the Pleasant Ridge Rams, while Luke Oatney won the boys 800 meter run (2:02.54) and took second in teh 1600 meter run. Keaton Comer placed second in the boy’s high jump and also took fourth in the 400 meter dash. Lady Rams took first in the 4x100 Throwers relay (1:03.28) and Emma Schwinn finished second in both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. 

Perry Lecompton and Pleasant Ridge both continue their track seasons on Thursday, May 10th at their respective League meets in the Big Seven and Northeast Kansas League.
