The Holton girl’s golf team kicked off the 2018 high school sports season in a big way Wednesday, taking first place at the Jeff West quad at Village Greens in Meriden.

The Wildcats two-person team of Sarah Holaday and Faith Holaday took first place shooting a 76, while teaming up with Taylor Stevens and Abbigail Hundley who shot 90 to give Holton a team score of 166.

That score was also good enough for first place out of the four teams competing, as the next closest score came from Silver Lake who combined to shoot 185.

Jeff West took third in their home quad carding a total of 191, led by the two-person team of Mollie Williams and Zoe Holthaus who shot 92. Lily Yager and Tehya Starr also played well carding a 99, while Rossville finished fourth in the quad carding a team score of 194.
