Centralia Volleyball Wins Valley Falls Invitational

The high school volleyball season continued Saturday as Valley Falls hosted an invitational, and the Centralia Panthers picked up their third tournament championship of the year taking down Valley Falls in the championship match.

The Panthers got to the title match by going 4-0 in pool play, picking up two set wins over Maur Hill, Oskaloosa and Jackson Heights, along with a three set win over Maranatha which was just second dropped set all season for Centralia.  

The Panthers then pushed their perfect record to 28-0 on the season, taking down the host Dragon in the championship in two sets 25-21, 25-23.

As to Valley Falls they got to the championship match by going 4-0 pool play, picking up two set wins over Axtell, Marantha, McLouth and Oskaloosa.

The Dragons then fell to Centralia in two sets in the championship match, pushing their record to 22-5 overall on the season.

Other teams that competed in the Valley Falls Invitational include Jackson Heights who took fifth going 3-2, Maur Hill-Mount Academy who went 1-4, Oskaloosa who took fourth at 2-3 and McLouth who ended the day at 2-3.
