JCN Girls, Jackson Heights Boys Claim NEKL Cross Country Titles

2018 NEKL Cross Country Meet – Girls Results & Boys Results

The Northeast Kansas League Cross Country Meet was held Thursday night at Jackson Heights, and it was the Jefferson County North girls along with the Jackson Heights boys claiming the team titles.

On the girls side JCN finished with four runners inside of the top 15, led by Zetta who took fourth with a time of 21:09.03. The Chargers also had Rose Wendling take 10th, Makayla Ratsloff 11th and Liz Easterday 12th.

Jackson Heights finished second as a team with three runners inside of the top 15, as Faith Little took second with a time of 20:52.72 to lead the way. Annie Allen also took fifth, while Shelby Phillips finished seventh.

The meet was won by McLouth’s Raegan Clark who finished with a time of 20:31.32, while the Bulldogs also saw Baylee Wolfe take third.

ACCHS had a strong showing as well on the girls side with three runners inside of the top 10, as Victoria Caplinger led the way taking sixth. The Tigers also had Madison Appel take eighth and Ashton Appel ninth.

On the boys side Jackson Heights led the way with four runners inside of the top 10, as Daniel Little won the meet with a time of 17:08.44. The Cobras also had AJ Mock take eighth, Drew Holliday ninth and Kolten Brenner tenth.

Jefferson County North finished second as a team on the boys side with two runners inside the top 15, as Trevor Pentlin took second while Dylan Wendling finished 15th.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy also had two guys finish inside of the top 12, as Ayden Black led the way taking third while Jake Heim finished 11th.

McLouth rounded out boys teams with multiple guys inside the top 15, as Jared Plake finished fourth, Gus Forsberg seventh and Kody Driskell 14th.
