Nemaha Central Claims Sabetha Volleyball Invitational

Sabetha Invitational - Results

The high school volleyball season continued on Saturday as Sabetha hosted an invitational, and it was the Nemaha Central Thunder who claimed the tournament championship with a two set win over Holton in the championship.

The Thunder got to the title game by going 4-0 in pool play, picking up two set wins over Hiawatha, Concordia, ACCHS and St. Marys. Nemaha Central then took Marysville in three sets in the semifinals, before taking down Holton in the championship 25-18, 25-20.

As to the Wildcats they got to the title match by going 4-0 in pool play as well, picking up wins over Sabetha, Wamego, Pleasant Ridge and Marysville.

The Lady Cats then took down St. Marys in three sets in the semifinals 25-11, 21-25, 25-15, before the loss to the Thunder.

Other area teams that competed in the Sabetha Invite included the host lady Jays who went 2-2 with wins over Pleasant Ridge and Wamego, ACCHS who was 1-3 with a win over Hiawatha, and the Red Hawks along with Pleasant Ridge each going 0-4.
