Seven Area Teams Highlight Week Seven Kansas Volleyball Associaton Rankings

KVA Week 7 – Rankings

The high school volleyball regular season wrapped up on Saturday and with that the final set of regular season rankings has been released by the Kansas Volleyball Association with seven area teams named.

Class 3A continues to house three teams, with Royal Valley still sitting at No. 1 with a 33-3 record. After taking third at the Abilene Invite Saturday the Panthers picked up two more wins Tuesday night, taking down Jeff West and Riverside.

Nemaha Central has moved up one spot this week to No. 6 with a 32-8 record, while Holton remains at No. 9 at 28-11.

The Thunder are coming off two wins over Perry Lecompton and Holton Tuesday night, while the Lady Cats suffered the loss to Nemaha before taking down Perry.

Just one area team remains in the 2A rankings, as Jefferson County North holds serve at No. 8 with a record of 27-7. The Chargers are coming off a 1-1 night Tuesday, falling to Pleasant Ridge before taking down Jackson Heights.

A new team has cracked the 1A rankings, as Frankfort is in the top 10 for the first time this season checking in at No. 9. The Wildcats are 32-8 on the season, coming off a 1A regional championship Tuesday night with wins over Linn and Hanover.

The Centralia Panthers also remain in the No. 1 ranking in the state in 1A with a perfect 40-0 record, while Valley Falls has moved up one spot to No. 6.

The Panthers picked up a regional title Tuesday by taking the Onaga regional with wins over Wetmore and Valley Falls, while the Dragons got second in the regional and advanced to sub-state play Saturday.
