3A Sub-State at Marysville – Bracket

3A State Tournament – Bracket

For the fourth time in Nemaha Central’s short history the Thunder volleyball team is headed to the 3A state tournament after claiming the Marysville sub-state championship Saturday afternoon.

The Thunder entered the tournament as the one seed and had no problem in their first round match, taking down Hiawatha in straight sets 25-12, 25-10.

In the semifinals the Thunder again dominated, this time taking down Rock Creek in straight sets 25-6, 25-20 to make it to the title match.

Nemaha Central then faced off against the host and two-seed Marysville Bulldogs in the championship, but again the Thunder needed just two sets winning the sub-state title 25-20, 25-14.

The Thunder now head into the state tournament in Hutchinson with an overall record of 35-8, and will open up pool play Friday against Hesston at 3:30 p.m., against Hoisington at 5:30 and against Burlington at 8:30.
