13 Area Athletes Place at State Cross Country

Class 1A-2A-4A – Results

Class 3A-5A-6A – Results  

State cross country meets were held on Saturday featuring several area athletes, and several area athletes and teams had strong showings. The top 20 runners and top three teams in each classification received medals.

Beginning in Class 4A Atchison’s Adalyn Collins led the way taking seventh place in the girls’ race with a time of 20:22.40, 20 seconds behind first place.

In Class 3A on the girls side Hiawatha took fifth as a team while Sabetha took seventh. The best area finish came from the Redhawks Mary Rosa who took seventh with a time of 20:40.7, while Hiawatha also had Katherine Madsen finish 11th.

On the boys side Hiawatha finished eighth as a team while Sabetha took 10th. The Redhawks were led by Justin Hodge who took 11th, while the Bluejays had Henry Glynn finish 21st.

In Class 2A the best area finished came from McLouth and JCN, as the Bulldogs had Reagan Clark and Baylee Wolfe take sixth and 12th on the girls side, while the Charger boys had Trevor Pentlin take sixth.

Jackson Heights also had Daniel Little place ninth, while McLouth’s Jared Plake took 26th.

In Class 1A two area runners finished inside the top 15 in the girls race, as Axtell’s Olivia Kuckelman took seventh and Doniphan West’s Elle Williams 15th.

In the boys race Axtell took fourth as a team with the best individual finish as Quinn Buessing finished fourth with a time of 17:37.4.

The Frankfort Wildcats also had two guys place inside of the top 20, Brandon Anderson led the way taking 15th while Colton Parthemer rounded out the day finishing 18th.
