2018-19 Northeast Kansas League All-League Basketball Honors Released

2018-19 NEKL All-League – Selections

The high school basketball season officially came to a close over the weekend and with that all-league teams have started to roll in.

The Northeast Kansas League was the latest to release their all-league teams and area schools were well-represented.

Pleasant Ridge captured the 2018-19 league crown on the girl’s side with a 13-1 league record and were led by senior Lindsey Heim on the first team.

Jefferson County North finished second at 13-3 in the league schedule with Josie Weishaar on the first team, while Jackson Heights finished in a tie for third with ACCHS and had Kylie Dohl earn first team honors.

The girl’s first team honors were rounded out by McLouth and Valley Falls, as the Bulldogs were led by Amy Mitchell while the Dragons had Regan Kirkwood earn first team honors.

On the boys side of the Northeast Kansas League Maur Hill-Mount Academy won the league with a 15-0 league record and were led by Zach Schwinn on the first team.

The McLouth Bulldogs finished second in the league 13-3 in the league and reached the state tournament in Class 2A led by Garrison Pope and Jaxson Pope who were each named to the first team.

The final two first team spots were rounded out by Oskaloosa and Valley Falls, as the Bears had Hunter Reed earn first team honors while the Dragons were led by Hunter Aspinwall.
