2019 High School Basketball All-State Teams Announced

The 2018-19 high school basketball season officially came to a close a little over a week ago and with that all-state teams have been released with 53 area athletes earning honors.

The Class 3A girl’s all-state teams feature the most area athletes in high honors with four, led by the first team selections of Royal Valley’s Mary Broxterman and Jeff West’s Aaliyah Negonsott. Along with those two Nemaha Central’s Alleigh Kramer was named a second team selection while Pleasant Ridge’s Lindsey Heim earned third team honors.

On the boys side in Class 3A two area athletes earn high all-state honors, as Perry Lecompton’s Colton Mallonee and Maur Hill-Mount Academy’s Zach Schwinn each earned second team honors.

Class 2A also featured two players earn high all-state honors, as Jeff County North’s Josie Weishaar was named to the first team while Jackson Heights’ Kylie Dohl earned second team honors.

Two more guys picked up 2A all-state honors, as McLouth’s Garrison Pope earned second team honors after leading the Bulldogs to state while Valley Heights sophomore Cameron Beardsley earned a spot on the third team.

The Class 1A girls all-state teams featured three area girls, led by Frankfort senior Emilee Ebert earning a spot on the first team. The other two spots came on the second team in Valley Falls senior Reagan Kirkwood and Centralia senior Madison Lueger.

The final two all-state selections come in Class 1A on the boys side, as Axtell junior Quinn Buessing and Centralia senior Daegan Steinlage each earned third team honors.
