Sabetha Golf Wins Home Invitational

2019 Sabetha Invitational – Results

The high school golf season continued Monday afternoon with area teams competing at the Sabetha Invitational, and it was the host Bluejays who took the top team spot finishing with the top three individual scores in the tournament.

The Bluejays were led by Jesse Burger who won the tournament shooting a 79, while David Pierson took second with an 81 and Carson Ukele third with an 85. Marcus Funk also took fifth with a 91, while Caden Lierz and Riley Lierz finished 13th and 15th shooting 101 and 103.

Nemaha Central finished second in the four-man category with two guys in the top 10, as Eric Hammes finished sixth shooting a 93 while Dalton Schmelzle took seventh with a 96.

Holton also finished with three guys inside of the top 15, as Rafe Folk led the way taking eighth while Ryan Taylor finished 10th and Reese Holaday right behind in 11th.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Hiawatha rounded out top 15 finishers, as the Ravens had Nathan Sowers finish ninth with a 97 while the Redhawks were led by Caden Lillie’s 14th place finish.
