Sabetha Girls and Boys Win Royal Valley Invitational

Royal Valley Track & Field Invitational – Results

The track and field season rolled along for area high school’s Tuesday night at the Royal Valley Invitational and it was the Sabetha girls and boys who came away with first place team finishes.

On the girl’s side the Lady Jays had two gold medal winners, as Megan Meyer won the high jump while Olivia Saner won the pole vault. The Sabetha girls also had three more second place finishers, with Hattie Lukert in the 800-meter run, Kinley Schuette in the 300-meter hurdles and Morgan Schuette in the high jump.

Jackson Heights actually finished with five first place finishers, as Faith Little won the 800-meter run, Annie Allen the 1600-meter run and Sydney Raborn the javelin. Little also teamed up with Allen, Jodi White and MaKenzie Kennedy to win the 4 by 800-meter relay, while the team of Kennedy, White, Little and Karley Dieckman won the 4 by 400-meter relay.

Royal Valley added four more gold medal winners, led by Kenzie Ogden who won the 100 and 300-meter hurdles. The Panthers also had Ivy Fink win the long jump and Morgan Harvey the triple jump.

On the boy’s side the Sabetha Bluejays had four first place finishers, led by Mason Engelken who won the 110 and 300-meter hurdles. The Bluejays also had Henry Glynn win the 800-meter hurdles, while Elliott Strahm won the shot put.

Area first place finishers were rounded out by Royal Valley and Jeff County North, as the Panthers had Kain Fink win the high jump while the Chargers 4 by 400-meter relay team of Logan Budy, Boyd Tweed, Landon Gutschenritter and Kyle Budy also won gold.
