Nemaha Central Girls Track & Field Win Republic County Invitational

Republic County Invite - Results

The track season rolled along Tuesday night at the Republic County Invitational was the Nemaha Central girls leading area performances taking first in the division two category.

The Thunder finished with six gold medal winners, led by Alleigh Kramer who won three events taking the 100 and 200-meter dashes along with the long jump crown. Nemaha Central also had Hannah Macke win the 800-meter run, while Jacy Dalinghaus won the shot put and javelin.

Valley Heights had two first place finishes with Samantha Vermetten winning the 1600-meter run, while Maddy Vermetten won the discus throw. The Mustangs also received a second-place finish in the shot put by Emma Yungeberg, who set the school record with a toss of 40 feet, 9 inches.

On the boy’s side it was Nemaha Central who had the best showing as the only area team with gold medal winners. Dalton Schmelze had two wins as he claimed the long jump and triple jump, while Gavin Duryea won the 800-meter run.
