Frankfort Golf Wins Third Consecutive Regional Title to Lead 1A State Qualifiers

Class 1A Regional at Washington County – Results  

For the third straight season the Frankfort Wildcats are regional golf champions after Monday afternoon claiming the 1A regional meet at Washington County.

The Wildcats had four individual qualifiers for the state tournament led by Aiden Gerstner who was the regional champion shooting an 81. Frankfort also finished fifth, sixth and seventh as Josh Tynon shot a 94 while Brandon Anderson and Branden Busssman each shot a 95.

Centralia added two more state qualifiers, as Trent Mars shot a 92 to take third while Kenton Talley had Kenton Talley finish eighth with a 95.

Area 1A state qualifiers was rounded out by Onaga, who had Tommy Kaberline shoot a 99 to take 11th.

Area state qualifiers now get set for the state meet Monday, May 20 which is scheduled to take place at Salina Municipal Golf Course in Salina.
