Big 7 All-League Baseball Selections Released

2019 Big 7 League Baseball All-League - Selections

The high school baseball season is set to come to a close this week with the Sabetha Bluejays competing at the 3A State Tournament and with that the Big 7 League has released the all-league teams for the 2019 season.

This season the league title was shared between Sabetha and Jeff West with each team finished with two losses.

The Bluejays finished with five first team selections led by Joe Gruber who was a unanimous all-league selection as an infielder. He was joined on the infield by Braden Argabright, who was also named a first-team pitcher as well. Sabetha rounded out their first team selections with Gabe Garber named a first-team outfielder while Drew Schmelzle earned a selection as a utility player.

Jeff West added three more first-team selections, led by Grant Thompson who was a unanimous selection as a pitcher. The Tigers also had Josh Lanum earn a spot as a pitcher, while Kevin Mannel was named to the first team at catcher.

Nemaha Central finished third in the league with a 9-5 record and had one unanimous first team selection in Tyler Gerety who earned an infield spot. Austin Gerety also was named a first team infielder, while Noe Gauna earned a spot in the outfield and Trenton Schmitz as a utility player.

First team selections were rounded out by Holton and Hiawatha, as the Cats had Zane Moylan earn a spot in the outfield and Eli Prine on the infield while the Redhawks were led by Michael Moreno who earned a first team nod at pitcher.
