2019 Legion Baseball – Standings

2019 Kanzaland Radio McDonald’s Player of the Game - Selections

The final full week of legion baseball rolled along last night with one doubleheader featuring area teams and Sabetha wrapped up the Northeast Kansas League title with a sweep of Marysville taking game one 4-3 and the second 2-1.

Game one was our featured game on KNZA and after Marysville jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the first inning, Sabetha took the lead for good with three runs in the fourth inning, thanks to an RBI single from Blake Frey and a two RBI single from Joe Gruber.

Gruber was named our McDonald’s player of the game on KNZA, as he was on base four times racking up two hits, two RBI’s, one run scored and one stolen base.

On the mound he was just as good, as he settled down after the shaky first and threw a complete game allowing just three runs on seven hits while striking out 10.

Game two was also a pitcher dual with Sabetha jumping out in front early with two runs thanks to four walks, a hit by pitch and a wild pitch.

Marysville cut the lead in half with a run in the second, but Braden Argabright shut things down from there allowing just six total hits while recording six strikeouts.

Seth Burdiek collected the lone bit for the Raptors, who took advantage of five walks.

The Raptors wrapped up the Northeast Kansas League regular season title in the sweep and currently hold a league record of 14-0 and an overall record of 24-1.
