The legion baseball AA Zone Tournament at Sabetha wrapped up Thursday night after a busy week and it was the host Raptors who will be heading back to state after punching their ticket with a 5-4 comeback win over Marysville.

Sabetha jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first inning on a two-run home run from Joe Gruber, but Marysville bounced back and took the lead with a run in the second and three runs in the third to lead 4-2.

Sabetha countered with one run in the third to make it 4-3 and then in the fifth Sabetha took the lead for good with two runs on one error including an RBI double from Brayden Becker.

Joe Gruber got the win on the mound as he threw the first 5 and 2/3 innings allowing four runs while striking out 10, and Braden Argabright finished the final inning and a third not allowing a hit while striking out one.

Gruber was named our McDonald's Player of the Game with his efforts, while offensively Riley Herrmann collected two hits.

Sabetha now awaits their seed in the upcoming state tournament next week which begins on Wednesday, and state brackets should be released sometime this weekend.
