2019 Legion Baseball State – Bracket

The 2019 AA/AAA State Legion Baseball tournament got underway Wednesday afternoon from Hays and the Sabetha Raptors dominated their opening pool play game taking down Norton 15-0 in just three innings.

Sabetha wasted no time jumping out in front 3-0 in the first inning thanks to three Norton errors and an RBI walk from Brayden Becker. The Raptors had a chance for more, but line into a double play with the bases loaded to end the inning.

Sabetha tacked on one more in the second on an RBI walk from Riley Herrmann, but once again left the bases loaded.

The Raptors put the game away with 11 runs in the third inning and walked the game off, using five hits and six walks with the big hit coming on a 2-RBI single from Gabe Garber.

Garber was named our McDonald’s Player of the Game on 103.9 KNZA after a 3-for-4 effort where he racked up three RBI and scored two runs.

Joe Gruber picked up the win on the mound for Sabetha tossing all three innings allowing just two hits while striking out six and throwing just 44 pitches.

Sabetha with the win opens tournament play 1-0 in their pool and will next be in action Thursday taking on Rusell around 12:30 p.m. with live coverage on 103.9 KNZA.
