Hiawatha Invitational – Results

It was another busy weekend for high school volleyball teams with area teams competing at the Hiawatha Invitational and it was the host Redhawks who came away with a first-place finish.

The Redhawks opened up the tournament by going 4-0 in pool play with wins over Jeff County North, Bishop Seabury, Horton and Riverside before beating Atchison in two sets in the semifinals and Jeff County North in the final.

JCN reached the finals by going 3-1 in pool play with the loss to the Redhawks and wins over Horton, Bishop Seabury and Riverside before beating Lafayette in the semifinals.

As to Atchison the Lady Red got to the semifinals by going 3-1 in pool play with wins over Centralia, Doniphan West and Troy along with a loss to Lafayette. Atchison then fell to Hiawatha in the semifinals before avenging the loss to Lafayette with a win in the third-place match.

Other area results from the Hiawatha Invitational include Centralia going 2-2 along with Riverside, Horton and Doniphan West each going 1-3.
