Area Cross Country Runners Compete at Rim Rock Invitational

Rim Rock Invitational Results – Girls & Boys

Some of the best cross-country runners across the entire state of Kansas were in action Saturday at the Rim Rock Invitational in Lawrence and several area runners had strong days.

On the girl’s side Hiawatha had the best team finish taking 10th out of 32 schools and were led by Kate Madsen who finished 26th out of 240 runners while the Redhawks also had Darcy Lierz take 54th.

The only other top finish in the girl’s race came from Jeff County North’s Zetta Noll as she finished in 58th place to lead the Chargers.

The boy’s race featured a few more area athletes led by Hiawatha’s Justin Hodge who finished the race 10th while Jeff County North’s Trevor Pentlin was just 12 seconds behind finishing 15th out of 311 runners.

The top 50 was rounded out by Jeff West, Perry Lecompton and McLouth who had one runner each with the Tigers led by Conner Inman who finished 43rd while the Kaws had James Bartlett take 46th and the Bulldogs Jared Plake 48th.
