Five Area Teams Remain Ranked in Week Five High School Football Rankings

District play got underway for nearly all high school football teams last week and through four weeks of the regular season five teams remained ranked throughout the state.

In Class 3A despite suffering their first loss of the season the Sabetha Bluejays continue to be ranked checking in this week at No. 4 after a 40-32 loss to then No. 3 Marysville.

Two teams remain in the Class 1A ranks with Valley Heights at No. 4 after a 34-14 win over Republic County while Centralia is ranked fifth after a 30-0 shutout of Pitt-Colgan.

The final two ranked area teams come in 8-man DII as Hanover continues to be ranked first while Axtell is second once again.

The Wildcats won their 42nd straight game and set a state record in a 46-0 blowout of Blue Valley last week while Axtell cruised by Pike Valley 58-10.
