Doniphan West Girls Win Centralia Cross Country Invitational, Sabetha Boys Finish Second

Centralia Cross Country Invitational – Results

After weather postponed Saturday’s scheduled cross country meet at Centralia area teams finally hit the course Monday afternoon and the Doniphan West girls had the best finish of any area team taking first while on the boys side Sabetha took second.   

The Mustangs were led by three top five finishes as Elle Williams won the meet while Chloe Clevenger was right behind in second and Claire Cole fifth.

Sabetha added two more girls inside of the top 15 with Hattie Lukert finishing sixth while Jadyn Dorn came in 12th.

Top finishes were rounded out by Centralia, Hanover and Jeff County North as the Panthers had Emma Holthaus take ninth, Michelle Zarybnicky of the Wildcats 11th and the Chargers Zetta Noll 13th.

On the boy’s side Sabetha was able to take second as a team behind three top 15 finishers led by Braden Menold who claimed sixth while Cameron Harrell finished 11th and Charlie Bestwick 14th.

Jeff County North came in third in the team standings with two top 15 finishers and were led by Trevor Pentlin who won the meet while Ricky Maginness added a 13th place finish.

Top area finishes were rounded out by Axtell, Wetmore and Linn who each had one top 10 finish led by the Eagles Simon Schmitz finishing fourth, the Cardinals Rasmus Nielson fifth and the Bulldogs Daniel York seventh.
