Class 2A JCN Sub-State – Bracket

For the 17th time in school history the Jefferson County North volleyball team is headed to the Class 2A State Tournament after Saturday shocking many and claiming their home sub-state championship.

The Chargers were the No. 2 seed in the tournament and opened with a rather easy two-set win over Riverside 25-8 and 25-13 before getting past a good Oskaloosa team without much trouble winning in two sets 25-16, 25-12.

JCN then faced off against Jackson Heights in the title match, who had already beaten the Chargers twice this year.

Jeff County North dominated in set one winning 25-15 and in the second after some resistance by the Cobras the Chargers ended the match in two sets with a 25-18 victory.

The Chargers now head to the state tournament in Dodge City which begins Friday with pool play action. JCN is the No. 7-seed in the tournament and will go up against Spearville at 4:30 p.m., Wabaunsee at 5:30 and Belle Plaine at 7:30.
