Valley Heights Volleyball Claims Class 2A Sub-State Championship

Class 2A El Saline Sub-State – Bracket

After breezing through the Twin Valley League schedule undefeated, Saturday the Valley Heights volleyball team punched their 14th ticket in school history to the state tournament by winning the El Saline Sub-State Championship.

The Mustangs breezed through the competition as the No. 1-seed winning each match in two sets beginning with a 25-10, 25-11 win over the host El Saline.

Valley Heights followed that up with a 26-24, 25-15 win over Ellsworth in the semifinals before a two-set win over Bennington 25-16,25-20 in the championship.

The Mustangs now head to the Class 3A State Tournament in Hutchinson on Friday as the No. 4-seed with a 36-4 record and they will have three pool play game beginning with Smith Center at 3:30 p.m. followed by Garden Plain at 5:30 p.m. and St. Mary’s Colgan at 8:30 p.m.
