The Perry Lecompton Kaws are heading to Class 3A Sub State for the first time since 2008 and just the second time in school history after an impressive 30-6 win at home against Prairie View on Friday night.  The Kaws improved to 8-3 with their fifth straight win and it wasn't even close against the undefeated Buffalos.

Billy Welch tossed three touchdown passes as Perry led 10-0 at halftime before a 14-0 third quarter to put the game away. Grant Roush caught two of the TD passes while Dawson Williams hauled in another and Thad Metcalfe scored once on the ground.

Perry now gets a rematch against Topeka Hayden, whom they beat 21-20 in overtime in week five. That is the only loss for 10-1 Hayden who topped unbeaten Frontenac 14-6 Friday night in another tough defensive battle. The win might have been costly for Hayden however as quarterback Johnny Hollaway left in the first half with an injury and did not return.
