Sabetha Girls, Marysville Boys Rack Up Non-League Wins

December 6th would be the first Friday night of the high school basketball season and the night would end in a split as the Sabetha girls and the Marysville boys would pick-up the wins.

The Sabetha Lady Jays would pick-up their first win of the season by a final score of 53-50 and were led in scoring by junior Melinna Schumann with 16 points. Hannah Wertenbeger would pick up 9 points and Payton Michael had 8 points as well.

The Lady Bulldogs were led in scoring by Senior Sami Bartels with 16 points while Macy Roever had 11 points and Linda Franco chipped in 9 points as well.

In the guy’s game it would be the Marysville Bulldogs getting the win by a final score of 68-52. The Bulldogs would have multiple guys in double digits in scoring on the night as Jackson Radar had 15 points while Dalton Denner chipped in 12 points, Bryar O'Neill 12 points and Owen Neitfeld chimed in with 10 points as well.

As a team Marysville hit 12 3-Pointers in the win. The Bluejays were lead in scoring by Senior Gabe Garber with 22 points while Braden Argabright would also chip in 18 points as well.

The Marysville girls fall to 1-1 on the season, as the Marysville Boys go to 2-0 to start the year.

Both Marysville teams will be at home next Tuesday night to take on Valley Heights.

 The Sabetha Lady Jays go to 1-0, as the Boys fall to 0-1 to start the season and both the Sabetha girls and boys will be at home next Tuesday night for another Non-League matchup with the Wamego Red Raiders.
