29 Athletes, One Coach Earn 2019 High School Football First Team All-State Selections

2019 All-State Football Teams – Cap Journal, Sports in Kansas, KFBCA

The 2019 high school football season ended a little over a week ago and with that all-state football teams have rolled in from publications throughout the state with 29 area athletes named first team selections.

In Class 3A the selections were dominated by the Big 7 League with Perry Lecompton earning three guys onto the first team in William Welch at quarterback, Hayden Robb on the offensive line and Grant Roush at linebacker.

Sabetha added two more first team selections in Gabe Garber at quarterback and Carson Ukele on the offensive line, while Jeff West had Kauli Saili earn first team on the defensive line and Pene Saili at linebacker.

Hiawatha rounded out Class 3A with one all-state selection in Michael Moreno who was named a first team selection at receiver.

The Class 2A all-state team was dominated by the state champion Nemaha Central Thunder who had four first team selections with Andrew Leonard at receiver, Brad Schmitz on the defensive line, Bryce Uphaus at linebacker and Gavin Duryea as an athlete.

Nemaha Central also had head Coach Warren Seitz earn coach of the year honors in 2A while he was named the all classes coach of the year by Sports in Kansas and the KFBCA.

Maur Hill-Mount Academy added two more first team selections in Abe Siebenmorgen at tight end and linebacker, while Jack Caudle earned a spot at quarterback and an at-large position.

The first team selections in 2A were rounded out by ACCHS who had Tucker Smith earn first team at running back.

In Class 1A it was the state champion Centralia Panthers who dominated the all-state team with five guys earning first team selections in Kamble Haverkamp at quarterback, Devin Ronnebaum and Austin Holthaus on the offensive line, Tyler Heinen on the defensive line and Corbin Becker at defensive back.

Jackson Heights added three more first team selections including two guys at multiple positions including Cooper Williams at running back, Riley Watkins at offensive line and linebacker and Carson Williams on the offensive and defensive lines.

Valley Heights and Jeff County North rounded out Class 1A as the Mustangs had two guys earn first team in Cole Coggins at running back and Tyler Wagner on the defensive line, while the Chargers had Logan Budy earn an all-state selection at linebacker.

In 8-man DII just four guys earned all-state selections and two from Axtell with Quinn Buessing earning a first team selection at quarterback and Kolby Talbot on the defensive line while Frankfort’s Brian Joseph earned a first team selection on the offensive line and Garrett Dalinghaus at linebacker.
