Holton Wrestling Takes Fifth at Clay Center to Lead Area Teams

The Holton Wildcats’ wrestling team continued its season Saturday at the Clay Center Invitational and the Cats finished fifth out of 12 teams competing.

Holton finished with just one individual champion as Jake Barnes went 4-0 to take first place at 113 pounds.

The Cats also had Jordan Huntington take second at 220 pounds while Conner Gilliland was third at 138 pounds.

Holton was rounded out by a pair of fourth place finishes as Tucker Gilliland went 3-2 at 106 pounds while Cayden Jackson did the same at 126 and Jayden Fletcher at 145.

Perry Lecompton was also in action on Saturday and were led by Grant Roush who finished third at 152 pounds.
