Four Area Teams in Dec. 16 Kansas Basketball Coaches Association Rankings

The first full week of the high school basketball season wrapped up Friday night and with that the newest set of rankings have been released by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association featuring four area teams.

All four ranked teams come on the girl’s side including three from the Big 7 League and all three of those teams in Class 3A.

At the top of the 3A rankings continues to be the defending state champion Royal Valley Panthers who are 1-1 on the year after a tough road loss Friday 74-16 to Nemaha Central who remains ranked third with a 3-0 record.

The only other team in Class 3A is the Sabetha Bluejays who are ranked seventh with a 3-0 record after a 47-35 win over Jeff West Friday night.

The final ranked area team this week comes on the girl’s side in Class 2A with the Jeff County North Chargers ranked sixth with a 3-0 record after a 60-33 win over McLouth.
