Nine Players, Two Coaches Named to 8-man All-Star Game

The Kansas Shrine Bowl announced the rosters for the 2020 game in July over the weekend and with that the 8-man all-star game rosters have been released as well featuring nine area athletes and two head coaches.

The most selections come from the Axtell Eagles who finished runner-up in the 8-man DII title game earning three players to the game in Quinn Buessing at quarterback, J.J. Hart at running back and Derek Buessing at tight end.

The Eagles also had head coach Eric Detweiler selected to the game to be the head man of the East squad, while Doniphan West’s Perry Smith was named an assistant coach.

Frankfort added two more all-star game selections with Garrett Dalinghaus at running back and linebacker while Brian Joseph earned a spot on the offensive and defensive lines.

Hanover continued to dominate the 8-man ranks this season earning three all-star spots in Teagan Schwartz, Jonah Weber and Tanner Link.

The final all-star selection came from Onaga who had Ethan Powell earn a spot at running back.
