Eight Area Teams Highlight Jan. 14 KBCA Rankings

KBCA Jan. 14 – Rankings

The 2020 portion of the high school basketball season is in full swing and with that the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association has released the first set of rankings for the year.

In Class 3A two area girls’ teams are ranked to begin the new year and are set to meet up Tuesday night as Nemaha Central is the new No. 1 team in the state while Sabetha is ranked fourth with both teams 6-0.

On the boy’s side just one area team is ranked with the Royal Valley boys ranked 10th with a perfect 5-0 record and all five wins in Big 7 League play.

Two more teams are ranked in the Class 2A rankings on the girl’s side with Jeff County North ranked sixth at 6-0 while Valley Heights is ranked 10th at 6-1.

The final three ranked teams come in Class 1A with Hanover ranked third and Clifton-Clyde ninth in the girl’s rankings while the Valley Falls boys continue to be ranked 10th. The Wildcat girls are 7-0 on the season while the Eagle girls are 8-0 and the Dragon boys are 6-1.
