13 Area Athletes, Two Teams Featured in Feb. 18 KWCA Rankings

Week 9 KWCA – Rankings

It’s time for the postseason for area high school wrestling teams with regionals coming up this weekend and with that the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released the newest set of rankings which features 13 athletes and two teams.

In Class 4A the Holton Wildcats continue to move up the rankings checking in this week at No. 8 as a team with three guys ranked heading into regionals.

The Wildcats are led by Kolby Roush who is ranked second at 138 pounds while Jake Barnes is third at 113 and Konnor Tannahill is fourth at 195.

The 321A classification features the most area wrestlers with Riverside, Sabetha and Perry Lecompton each being represented by two guys in the top six of their respective weight class.

For the Cyclones Beau Horn leads the way ranked second at 138 pounds while Luke Horn is third at 160.

The Bluejays have Kaden Dillon ranked sixth at 152 pounds and Walker Lowdermilk third at 170 while the Kaws have Grant Roush ranked fifth at 152 while Hayden Robb is sixth at 220.

The boy’s rankings are rounded out by Doniphan West and Oskaloosa who each have one guy ranked with the Mustangs’ Nathaniel Howerton second at 182 pounds while the Bears have Eli King fourth at 195.

In the girl’s rankings just two girls are featured this week including Onaga as a team ranked 10th with Morgan Mayginnes leading the Buffaloes as the No. 1-ranked wrestler at 155 pounds.

The rankings are rounded out by Royal Valley’s Maya Ogden who is ranked fourth at 136 pounds.
