2020 NEKL Summer Baseball – Standings

For the first time in over two months live, local sports returned to Northeast Kansas yesterday as the summer league scheduled kicked off for the Northeast Kansas League and Sabetha and Seneca split a doubleheader with the Raptors taking game one 18-11 while Seneca earned a 3-1 win in game two.

Game one was our featured game on the MSC Sports Radio Network and saw Seneca race out to a 10-2 lead in the fourth inning before Sabetha stormed back with four runs in the fourth, six in the fifth and six more in the sixth to win 18-11.

Braden Argabright was named our McDonald’s Player of the Game on 103.9 KNZA after his 2-for-3 performance at the plate with three RBI, two walks and three runs scored.

Argabright also picked up the save in game one pitching the final two innings not allowing a hit while striking out four.

In game two Seneca took advantage of two Sabetha errors to score three unearned runs in third inning behind a pair of RBI singles from Dalton Huerter and Bryce Uphaus before going on to win 3-1.

John Strathman allowed just three hits in the win for Seneca, while Braden Argabright got the start in game two for Sabetha and scattered six hits and fanned five batters.

Both teams start the season off 1-1 and will both be back in action on Wednesday with Seneca hosting Corning while Sabetha hosts Topeka.
