The 2020 Northeast Kansas Summer Baseball season continued Wednesday with nearly all area teams in action.

Below you can find the complete recap of games from Wednesday.

Wednesday, June 17

Sabetha falls in single game to Auburn

Auburn's Ryne Flynn and Cole Fossenbarger combined to limit Sabetha to only two hits in an 8-0 shutout.

The duo fanned 11 Raptors and allowed only one free pass in the contest.

Auburn led 2-0 before plating three runs in the fifth on only one hit and scoring another three runs in the seventh for the 8-0 win.

Tristan Wittwer went the first four innings for the Raptors allowing only two runs of which only one was earned.

Valley Falls takes two from Hiawatha

In a non-league doubleheader featuring two league teams it was Valley Falls who picked up a pair of wins 20-5 and 3-2.

Game one was all River Bandits from the start as Valley Falls jumped out to a 10-1 lead after the first inning and plated nine more runs the second to earn the run-rule victory.

Valley Falls took advantage of 14 Hiawatha walks and five errors to earn the win with the only big offense coming from Brennen Miller who had two hits, three RBI and three runs scored.

The River Bandits also had Cade Norris, Denten Elias, Logan Martens, Mason Allen and Jackson Reich each rack up two RBI in the win.

Game two was a pitcher’s duel early with Valley Falls taking the initial lead with two runs in the bottom of the third inning on a two-RBI double by Cade Norris.

Hiawatha came right back and tied the game with a pair of runs in the top of the fourth before Valley Falls got the eventual game-winning hit in the bottom of the inning on an RBI-single from Brennen Miller.

Norris finished the game with two RBI as the River Bandits took advantage of three more Hiawatha errors.

Corning and Marysville split doubleheader

In the most competitive doubleheader of the night Corning and Marysville split a pair of league games with Corning taking game one 4-2 while Marysville won the second 2-1.

In game one the two teams went back-and-forth before Corning eventually plated two runs in the top of the seventh inning to sneak away with the 4-2 victory.

Corning took advantage of five Marysville errors in the win while Austin Holthaus was the only player with two hits.

Kamble Haverkamp also tossed a complete game allowing just one earned run with six strikeouts and one walk.

Jonny Crome and Storm Slupianek each finished with two hits to lead Marysville.

In game two both teams scored a run in the second inning and that 1-1 score held until the bottom of the fifth when Ayden Price scored on a wild pitch to earn the walk-off win.

Ben Kirkland had the only two-hit game for Marysville while Jon Haggard threw all five innings allowing just one run on two hits.

Corning committed three errors in the loss but got a solid pitching performance from Zach Fischer who allowed one earned run on just four hits.
