The National High School Rodeo Association held their annual championships last week and recent Jackson Heights graduate Cable Wareham made the biggest splash capturing the Saddle Bronc Riding National Title.

Wareham won the title with a score of 216.5 which was over 19 points better than the next closest rider.

His championship comes after dominating the Kansas State Championships a little over a month ago where he finished with 106 total points which was nearly 30 points more than the nearest competitor.

Wareham’s national title came in his fourth and final appearance at nationals after he qualified his first three years of high school.

He now gets set to continue his rodeo career at Fort Scott Community College and work his way into the professional ranks in the coming years.
