Six Area Teams Highlight Week Two High School Football State Rankings

Week 2 Kpreps – Rankings

Week one of the high school football is in the books and with that the first set of regular season state rankings have been released featuring six area teams.

In Class 3A two area teams are featured in the rankings with Perry Lecompton second after a 54-6 win over Jeff West last week while fellow Big 7 League foe Holton is ranked fourth after a 15-13 win over defending state champion Nemaha Central.

Despite the loss the Thunder are still in the Class 2A rankings this week checking in at No. 5 with another tough matchup this week at 4A Eudora.

In Class 1A two area teams continue to be ranked with Valley Heights coming in at No. 2 following a 32-12 win over 3A Marysville in week one while Centralia has moved to third following a 42-6 loss to 2A No. 1-ranked Rossville.

The final ranked area team comes in 8-man DII as the Axtell Eagles are ranked third following a 58-18 beat down of Wheatland/Grinnell last week.
