Hiawatha Wins Home Volleyball Invitational

Area high school volleyball teams continued their seasons Saturday at the Hiawatha Invitational and it was the host Redhawks who went 6-0 to claim the tournament championship.

Hiawatha opened with a 4-0 record in pool play with straight set wins over JCN, Horton, Riverside and Bishop Seabury before a two-set win over Centralia in the semifinals and a two-set win over Nemaha Central in the championship.

As to the Thunder they reached the title match by going 4-0 in pool play with wins over Doniphan West, Troy, Atchison, and Centralia before beating Jeff County North in the semifinals

In the third-place match Jeff County North faced off against Centralia and it was the Chargers who won in two sets to claim third.
