Sabetha Girls and Boys Cross Country Teams Claim Nemaha Central Invite

Nemaha Central Cross Country Invitational – Results

Area cross country teams continued their seasons last night at the Nemaha Central Invitational and it was the Sabetha girls and boys who captured team titles.

On the girl’s side the Lady Jays claimed first place behind three top 10 finishes led by Hattie Lukert who finished in second place while Mary Lukert was fourth and Leah Lukert eighth.

Doniphan West was right behind Sabetha in the team standings with three more top 10’s led by Elle Williams who won the meet while Chloe Clevenger finished fifth and Claire Cole seventh.

Hiawatha and Nemaha Central wrapped up the top 10 on the girl’s side with two placers each as the Redhawks had Kate Madsen finish third and Darcy Lierz ninth while the Thunder had Hailey Nordhus finish sixth and Kyndall Sextro tenth.

On the boy’s side Sabetha won the meet behind four top 10 finishers led by Kalvin Evans, Tyreese Bishop and Cameron Harrell who finished third, fourth and fifth, respectively while Braden Menold finished tenth.

Hiawatha was the only other team with multiple top 10’s as Justin Hodge took second while Camden Bauchman finished seventh.

The boy’s race was won by Jeff County North’s Trevor Pentlin who won by over 20 seconds while Nemaha Central had John Langill finish sixth.

The meet was rounded out by Axtell and ACCHS who each had one top 10 finish with the Eagles Mitchell Buessing finishing eighth while the Tigers Logan Rose came in ninth.
