Four Area Teams Highlight Week Five High School Football Rankings

Four weeks of the high school football season are in the books and the newest set of state rankings have been released featuring five area teams.

In Class 3A the Perry Lecompton Kaws continue to hold onto the second spot in the rankings following a dominant 71-0 win over Bishop Ward to move to 4-0 on the year.

A new team is into the rankings in Class 2A as the Maur Hill-Mount Academy Ravens are ranked fifth following a dominant 41-8 win over Republic County last which moves MH-MA to 4-0.

The biggest move this week comes in Class 1A as the Centralia Panthers are up to No. 2 after a 28-0 shutout win over previously No. 2-ranked Valley Heights Friday night.

The final ranked area team comes in 8-man DII as the Axtell Eagles have dropped to No. 5 in the rankings this week following a 62-12 loss to No. 2 Hanover.
