The undefeated Olpe Eagles sure looked the part of a top ranked 1A football team at Jackson Heights on Friday night winning the week six non-district matchup for a third straight year 35-0. The Eagles led 28-0 at halftime and had outgained Jackson Heights 253 to 34 while holding the Cobras to just a pair of first downs.  Heights finished with only 81 total yards of offense on the night in their first full game without top athlete and dual-threat quarterback, Jason Bosley.

The Olpe offense was only stopped one time in the game on a drive to begin the second half, but did overcome comitting the only two turnovers of the night. Damon Redeker was 12-22 passing for 216 yards and ran for 67 as the Eagle offense churned out 322 yards and improved to 6-0 on the season. Gabe Castillo caught a touchdown while Derek Hoelting caught and ran for a score.

Jackson Heights was led by Alex Browning with 31 yards rushing and the team completed only one of three passes for three yards before falling to 3-2 on the season. Jason White recovered a fumble and played well on the line while Wyatt Bacon had an interception and ran the ball well late.  The only score in the second half came when Garret Cole blocked a Jackson Heights short-snap punt attempt and Brayden Weiss picked it up and ran for a 12-yard score midway through the third quarter.

Jackson Heights will host Valley Heights in a district game next week.
