Jeff County North Girls, McLouth Boys Claim Northeast Kansas League Cross Country Titles

NEKL Cross Country Meet – Results

Area high school cross country teams competed in their respective league meets yesterday and in the Northeast Kansas League meet it was the Jeff County North girls and McLouth boys who claimed team titles.

On the girl’s side the Chargers claimed the top spot behind three top 10 finishers led by Sydney Myers who took second while Zetta Noll was fifth and Kaley Olberding 10th.

McLouth was just three points behind JCN in the team standings and added three more girls in the top 10 with Reagan Clark and Nina Hedden third and fourth, respectively while Ash David was sixth.

The only other school with multiple top tens was Horton who had three with Maliyah Soto, Keirria Blacksmith and Maggie Heinen finishing seventh through ninth.

The girl’s race was won by Jackson Heights’ Annalysse Allen who was the Cobras lone top 10 finisher.

On the boy’s side McLouth won the league title with four guys inside of the top 10 led by Jared Plake and Henry Cloyd who finished third and fourth while August Forsberg was ninth and Andrew Cloyd 10th.

Jeff County North added three more top 10’s to take second as Trevor Pentlin finished runner-up for the Chargers while Trent Meredith was sixth and Isaac Kane eighth.

The boy’s race was won by Jackson Height’s Daniel Little who won the meet for the second straight season.

ACCHS rounded out the meet with two top 10 finishers as Logan Rose was fifth while Haden Forbes was seventh.
