Doniphan West Girls, Wetmore Boys Claim TVL Cross Country Titles

Twin Valley League Cross Country – Results

Axtell was the host of the Twin Valley League Cross Country meet for 2020 and it was the Doniphan West girls and Wetmore boys who claimed league titles.

On the girl’s side Doniphan West won the league with three top 10 finishers led by Chloe Clevinger who won the meet while Claire Cole was right behind in second and Emma Albers seventh.

Clifton-Clyde finished second as a team as Elisa Sorell led the way taking sixth while Ella Steinbrock came in ninth.

Hanover was the only other school with multiple top 10 finishers as Michelle Zarybnicky came in third while Kinsley Jueneman was eighth.

Linn, Frankfort, and Washington County rounded out the top 10 as the Bulldogs had Claire Beikmann finish fourth while the Wildcats had Hattie Gros take fifth and the Tigers Kriesten Tholstrup 10th.

On the boy’s side Wetmore won the league title behind three top 10 finishers led by Kael McQueen who took second while Eric Bloom was third and Colby Hanzlicek eighth.

The race was won by Axtell’s Mitchell Buessing who won by eight seconds.

Linn and Washington County each had two top finishers as the Bulldogs had Trent Beier take fourth and Isaac Rogge seventh while the Tigers had Liam Cordrey finish sixth and Drake Baker ninth.

Onaga and Clifton-Clyde rounded out the top 10 as the Buffaloes Sam Kufahl finished fifth while the Eagles Colton Czapanskiy came in 10th.
