TVL Tournament Day One – Results

The Twin Valley League kicked off its annual league tournament on Saturday and just four teams remain vying for the tournament league title for 2020.

The tournament was broken into two divisions, the silver and the gold with the gold representing the eight schools still alive for the tournament title.

In pool No. 1 of the Gold Division, Valley Heights came out as the top seed after going 3-0 with wins over Doniphan West, Linn, and Centralia while Centralia claimed the second spot after beating Linn.

The Panther won the tiebreaker over Linn and Doniphan West after winning more sets than D-West and the head-to-head victory over Linn.

In pool No. 2 it was Hanover who came out on top with wins over Wetmore and Clifton-Clyde while Wetmore advanced with wins over Washington County and Clyde.

This sets up the semifinals for Tuesday night as Valley Heights will battle Wetmore and Hanover will take on Centralia at 6 p.m.

The winners of those two semifinals will face off in the championship Tuesday night while the losers will play for third with both matches scheduled to begin around 7 p.m.
