Sabetha Headlines KVA All State Volleyball Teams

The Kansas Volleyball Association has released the 2020 All State Tournament teams. 

Leading the way are the Sabetha Bluejays, who captured the 3A State Championship for the first time in school history with a record-setting 41-1 season. The Lady Jays have four players earn All State honors including junior Emily Krebs as well as the senior trio of Melinna Schumann, Leah Renyer and Camryn Wessel.  

In Class 2A, Jeff County North qualified for state before falling in a heart-breaker best of five match quarterfinal.  The Chargers, who finished the season 30-5 and won the Northeast Kansas League, were represented by senior, Kinsey Schneider. 

Centralia made it back to the Class 1A Division One State Volleyball Tournament this year but also fell is the best of five quarterfinal state match in a gut-wrenching loss that ended their season at 21-10. The Panthers had Avery Deters, junior, named to the KVA All State Tournament team. 

Finally, in Class 1A Division Two, Hanover had four players selected to the All State Team and all will be back next year following a 27-5 campaign that ended with a State Championship. Wildcats earning honors included: Avery Behrends (junior), Madison Bruna (junior), Alllison Jueneman (junior) and Ceegan Atkins (sophomore).
