Big 7 League Wrestling – Results

Behind six first place finishes the Sabetha Bluejays’ wrestling team captured the 2021 Big 7 League team title at Jeff West on Saturday.

The Jays got first place finishes from Colin Menold at 126 pounds, Cole Hinton at 138, Jonathan Renyer at 145, Trevin Lavoie at 152, Kaden Dillon at 160, Josh Herrmann at 170 and Zach Grimm at 182.

Perry Lecompton came in second as a team and added three first place finishes of their own led by Mason Bahnmaier who took first at 120 pounds while Gavin Monaghan won at 195 and Sean Urban at 285.

Riverside was the only other team with multiple first place finishes as Connor Hayes claimed the 132-pound title while Kaeden Juhl won at 220.

Holton and Jeff West rounded out first place finishes as the Tigers Theron Meyer won the 106-pound title while the Cats Asher Larson claimed first at 113.
